So I finally completed this piece that I started about a year ago! I began painting different coloured triangles using enamel paint. But that seemed so boring so I added my triangle pattern element to it. About a week ago, I suddenly had the inspiration to recycle my bee design and introduce it to this particular piece. 

I showed the work in progress (before I added the bees) to a friend who told me that the square patterns remind him of abstract flowers. I really loved that interpretation, hence the title "Pollen Nation" (obviously derived from 'pollination'). I feel satisfied that it all came together in the end. Now every time I look at this piece, I see happy little bees roaming around the flower bed :)

This is also a good reminder to never disregard old work and ideas (even if it is roughly sketched on a tiny piece of scrap paper). That small idea could possibly act as a missing element of the puzzle that is your artwork. All you need to do is to wait for the right artwork to revive and re-explore it.
