Finally working on this piece again. As you can see I have added a lot more layers to the original pattern (from left to right). I'm thinking of an insect theme for this one! I'm not too keen on the colour choices for now but hopefully it turns out alright.

So I finally completed this piece that I started about a year ago! I began painting different coloured triangles using enamel paint. But that seemed so boring so I added my triangle pattern element to it. About a week ago, I suddenly had the inspiration to recycle my bee design and introduce it to this particular piece.
I showed the work in progress (before I added the bees) to a friend who told me that the square patterns remind him of abstract flowers. I really loved that interpretation, hence the title "Pollen Nation" (obviously derived from 'pollination'). I feel satisfied that it all came together in the end. Now every time I look at this piece, I see happy little bees roaming around the flower bed :)
This is also a good reminder to never disregard old work and ideas (even if it is roughly sketched on a tiny piece of scrap paper). That small idea could possibly act as a missing element of the puzzle that is your artwork. All you need to do is to wait for the right artwork to revive and re-explore it.
